Glove and Ball

FAQ

DO WE NEED A CATCHER FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS?

No. Pitchers will throw into a tarp, this allows them to fully concentrate on their fundamentals rather than on throwing strikes to a cather.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY DAUGHTER NEED FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS?

Her glove, clean shoes (not cleats), and a bat if she has one. We may do some hitting at the end of the lesson, if time allows. Proper pitching attire is requested, shorts or pants and a t-shirt is appropriate. In winter months, please wear different shoes into the garage and put on dry, clean shoes to enter the house/basement. Also, please park on the right side of the driveway.

DO I NEED TO BE AT A CERTAIN ATHLETIC LEVEL TO TRAIN WITH NUCLEUS PITCHING ACADEMY?

No experience is necessary no matter what age you are. All ages, abilities, and body types are welcome.

ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO WATCH INDIVIDUAL LESSONS? WHAT ABOUT SIBLINGS?

Yes! I encourage parents to stay and engage in the lessons (though not required). My hope is for parents to see what I see so they can help their daughters when I am not there. However, if a parent becomes a distraction, I will ask that you no longer sit in on lessons.
Space for those watching a lesson is very limited, and safety is always a concern with balls whizzing by and bats being swung. I want to be able to focus solely on the pitcher, so please use your best judgement about bringing a sibling along. Again, if any family member is a distraction, they will be asked to not return. Thank you for understanding!

WHAT IS YOUR COVID-19 RESPONSE STRATEGY?

Anyone entering and exiting the home will be asked to wear a mask. You will enter through the garage, and come directly downstairs. Once in the basement or back outside, the mask can be removed. Athletes will be required to sanitize hands before and after the lessons (sanitizer will be provided). Anyone experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 will be asked not to attend the lesson. Lessons will start and end on time to keep athletes and parents from crossing paths between lessons. Please wait in your car or outside until I come get you. Thank you for your patience and understanding as I do my part to keep everyone safe and healthy!

HOW DO I PAY FOR LESSONS AND WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cash, check, or Venmo are accepted at this time. Prepayment of multiple lessons is accepted, however paying on a weekly basis is preferred.

Cancellations will be accepted no later than 8 hours before the start time of your lesson. If you need to cancel within those eight hours a $25 fee will be assessed. The fee will be waived if you are able to reschedule within the same calendar week or I am able to fill your spot.
