FAQ

DO WE NEED A CATCHER FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS?

No. Pitchers will throw into a tarp, this allows them to fully concentrate on their fundamentals rather than on throwing strikes to a catcher. Lessons will always take place in the basement.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY DAUGHTER NEED FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS?

Her glove, clean shoes (not cleats), and a bat (hitting lessons only). Proper pitching attire is requested, shorts or pants and a t-shirt is appropriate. In winter months or on rainy days, please wear different shoes into the garage and put on dry, clean shoes to enter the house/basement.

IT'S OUR FIRST LESSON! WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE ARRIVE?

Please park on the right side of the driveway or in the street and wait for me to come out and get you. After your first lesson, I may just wave you in from inside the front window.

DO I NEED TO BE AT A CERTAIN ATHLETIC LEVEL TO TRAIN WITH NUCLEUS PITCHING ACADEMY?

No! All ages, body types, and abilities are welcome to train at Nucleus. I do ask that your child has the ability to focus, and WANTS to be there. I can teach them how to pitch, but first they need to want to learn and need to be engaged in the lesson. I am only willing to motivate so much, the rest needs to come from within the pitcher.

ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO WATCH INDIVIDUAL LESSONS? WHAT ABOUT SIBLINGS?

Yes! Parents are allowed to stay and observe the lessons (though not required). However, if a parent becomes a distraction, I will ask that you no longer sit in on lessons. Also, please refrain from coaching your daughter while watching her lesson. If you do not stay, I will gladly give you a review of what we talked about, should you inquire.
Space for those watching a lesson is very limited, and safety is always a concern with balls whizzing by and bats being swung. I want to be able to focus solely on the pitcher, so please use your best judgement about bringing a sibling along. Again, if any family member is a distraction, they will be asked to not return. Thank you for understanding!

HOW DO I PAY FOR LESSONS AND WHAT IS THE CANCELATION POLICY?

Accepting Venmo (@Linnea-Utecht). Pre-payment of multiple lessons is accepted, however paying on a weekly basis is preferred.

Cancelations will be accepted no later than 24 hours before the start time of your lesson. If you need to cancel within those 24 hours the $60 fee for the lesson will be assessed. Missed or forgotten lessons will also be charged the full $60 fee, which must be paid prior to your next scheduled lesson. I appreciate your understanding of this policy as well as being proactive in paying for the canceled or missed lesson.
